Introduction ___Latest-News___

If my memory serves me right, I got my first taste of fansubs when I was 15, back in 1996. I sent a handful of dollars to some nice girl in the States, half way around the world from where I live, and she sent me back a set of Ranma tapes and some random Sailor Moon stickers. The fact that you could do such a thing totally blew my mind back then! It was like the coolest thing ever! Ever since that faithful event, I've been a steady consumer of fansubs, and now, after all these years I finally got off my butt and decided to contribute something back to the community.

This here is my project to translate a couple of series which have for years been very dear to me, but which for some reason haven't been touched by existing fansub groups. This is a one man project, which means a lot of work for me. This is why I will be working on new releases mostly "whenever I feel like it."

I prefer to keep my subtitles simple, I don't like to use fancy fonts or karaoke subtitles. I also try to avoid awkward word-to-word translations as much as possible. Do take a moment to check out the forums. Comments and constructive criticism are most welcome!

For me, this is anime at its best. I hope you enjoy the series as much as I do!

Legendary Gambler Tetsuya
Legendary Gambler Tetsuya

Hah, I can't believe I couldn't find a single plot synopsis to paste here! Okay, so the year is 1946. The story centers around the life of Tetsuya, a young gambler aspiring to grind out a living by playing mahjong in post-war Japan. However, as one might expect, things don't start out too well for him. After his first attempt at testing out his skills in Shinjuku, he's quickly taken to the cleaners by Boshu, a local pro. Eventually, they form a teacher-student relationship, Tetsuya learns all the tricks of the trade and goes around playing against some of the weirdest looking people, making a name for himself in the process. The story is loosely based on the hit novel "Mahjong Hourouki" by Asada Tetsuya.
